Lay democracy

UNISON is a member led democratic organisation, with your representatives setting policies and priorities for the region.

As a member, you can become involved by attending branch meetings, voting in elections, or by standing for posts yourself. You can get involved at whatever level you want, be it workplace, branch, regional or national. Regional policy is determined by branch delegates to Regional Council which meets quarterly in Birmingham. Elections are held at the Regional Council AGM for Regional Committee and the other standing committees, whose reports you can find here.
